Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by cleaning your mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Trim off the tough stems and slice the mushrooms into 1/4-inch strips.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together your marinade ingredients: soy sauce or tamari, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and sesame oil.
  3. Add your sliced mushrooms to the bowl of marinade, tossing them gently to ensure each piece is well coated. Let them sit for 15-30 minutes.
  4. While marinating, preheat your air fryer to 250°F (120°C).
  5. Arrange the marinated mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Check your mushroom jerky for desired texture after 30 minutes. Cook longer if preferred.
  7. Transfer the mushroom jerky to a wire rack to cool for 10-15 minutes.
