  • 2 tbsp Honey maple syrup works as a vegan alternative
  • 1/4 cup Water no substitutions needed
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • to taste Pepper freshly cracked elevates flavor
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch helps thicken the sauce
  • 2 tbsp Cold Water for mixing with cornstarch
For Serving
  • 1 each Lemon Wedges to serve alongside the salmon

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Carefully lay the salmon fillet skin-side down on the lined baking sheet.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, water, minced garlic, and freshly cracked pepper, and whisk over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch with cold water in a small bowl until smooth, then stir this mixture into your simmering sauce and cook for an additional 30 seconds until thickened.
  5. Evenly spread the teriyaki sauce over the salmon fillet.
  6. Bake for 12-20 minutes, checking at 12 minutes for doneness.
  7. Serve with fresh lemon wedges on the side.
