Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the Oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by greasing and lining it.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Beat eggs and granulated sugar on high speed until thick and fluffy.
  4. Fold in vanilla extract, whole milk, and melted butter into the egg-sugar mixture.
  5. Sift dry ingredients into the wet batter and fold gently until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a chilled bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  9. Slice the cooled cake horizontally if desired, layer with Chantilly cream and mixed berries.
  10. Top with whipped cream and garnish with more berries, refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
