For Garnishing

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla extract.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Press into a 9-inch springform pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden. Cool slightly.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar and vanilla, then eggs one at a time. If using, fold in sour cream and flour until creamy.
  4. Pour cheesecake filling over cooled crust and smooth the top. Tap the pan to release air bubbles.
  5. Lower oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and bake for 40-50 minutes until edges are set, with a slightly jiggly center.
  6. Cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours or overnight.
  7. Remove cheesecake from pan and top with whipped cream, sugar sprinkles, and fresh berries before serving.
