Cooking Steps
  1. Marinate the chicken by soaking the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

  3. Dredge the marinated chicken thighs in the seasoned flour mix, ensuring even coverage.
  4. Fry the chicken in heated vegetable oil at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Make the waffle batter by combining flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in one bowl, then mixing eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla in another.
  6. Cook the waffles in a preheated waffle maker until golden brown, usually about 5 minutes.
  7. Serve by placing a waffle on a plate, topping it with crispy chicken, and drizzling with maple syrup.
