For the Chocolate Layer
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips Choose dark, milk, or white chocolate.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Evenly lay out saltine crackers on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter over medium heat. Add 1 cup of brown sugar and stir continuously until boiling, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Pour the toffee mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.
  5. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbling and golden.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee; let melt for 5 minutes.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate evenly across the toffee layer. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
