- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Evenly lay out saltine crackers on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter over medium heat. Add 1 cup of brown sugar and stir continuously until boiling, about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour the toffee mixture evenly over the saltine crackers.
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbling and golden.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee; let melt for 5 minutes.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly across the toffee layer. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
