Ingredients

For the Base
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce Provides a moist texture and natural sweetness; swap with mashed bananas for a different flavor.
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder Boosts the protein content; both plant-based and whey options work well.
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour Essential for structure; absorbs moisture and adds subtle coconut flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar Optional for extra sweetness; feel free to use your preferred sweetener.
For the Liquid
  • 2-4 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk Adjusts mixture consistency; substitute with any plant-based milk or water as needed.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, 1/4 cup of coconut flour, and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Mix these ingredients together using a spatula for about 3–5 minutes until a thick, dough-like consistency forms.
  2. Gradually add 2–4 tablespoons of unsweetened almond milk to the bowl while gently stirring. Continue mixing until the dough is manageable but not too wet, taking about 1–2 minutes.
  3. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions and roll each into a smooth ball. Make approximately 12 equal-sized balls.
  4. Place the rolled balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
  5. After chilling, serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
