Ingredients
  

Blueberry Syrup
  • 1 cup Blueberries Fresh or frozen
  • 1 zest Lemon For added flavor
  • 0.5 cup Granulated Sugar Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 cup Water Use cold water
For Serving
  • Ice Cubes Ice Cubes Could be frozen blueberries
  • Fresh Mint or Lemon Slices For garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Blueberry Syrup
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of blueberries, the zest of one lemon, 0.5 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium, stirring for 5-7 minutes until blueberries soften.
  2. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing with a spoon to extract liquid.
  4. In a pitcher, mix strained syrup with 4 cups of cold water and 0.5 cup of fresh lemon juice. Stir thoroughly.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, then serve over ice and garnish.

Notes
