- Soak and rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Let it soak in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and place it in a cheesecloth-lined steamer basket over simmering water. Cover and steam for 25-30 minutes until tender.
- Combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Warm over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves completely.
- Set aside ¼ cup of the coconut sauce for later use.
- Combine the warm coconut sauce with the steamed sticky rice in a mixing bowl, and let it sit covered for 15 minutes.
- Spoon portions of the sticky rice mixture into dessert cups. Layer sliced mango generously on top of the rice.
- Drizzle with the reserved coconut sauce before serving. Optionally garnish with sesame seeds or mint leaves.
