Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with colorful cupcake liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together on medium speed for about 3 minutes.
  4. Incorporate eggs one at a time into the mixture and follow with the vanilla extract.
  5. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the flour.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter and bake for 18 to 20 minutes.

Buttercream Preparation
  1. Beat the softened butter until creamy and smooth, gradually adding powdered sugar until fully combined.
  2. Mix in the heavy cream and vanilla extract, then beat on high speed for 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy.
