Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil and sauté one diced onion and three minced garlic cloves for about 3–4 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  2. Add 1 pound of Italian sausage to the pot, breaking it apart. Cook for approximately 6–8 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  3. Stir in 12 ounces of pasta, 1 cup of honey BBQ sauce, and 3 cups of broth. Increase heat to bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for about 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove pot from heat, stir in 2 cups of shredded cheese until melted.
  6. Scoop into bowls and garnish if desired.
