Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by greasing it lightly and dusting it with flour.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well-blended.
  3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract; blend until smooth.
  4. Stir in boiling water carefully until batter is consistent.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet, spreading it evenly, and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While the cake bakes, make the frosting by combining evaporated milk, sugar, butter, egg yolks, and vanilla in a saucepan; stir continuously over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  7. Cool the cake for 10-15 minutes, then spread frosting evenly over it and roll into a log shape.
  8. Let the roll set for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
