- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Beat together 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add two large eggs, one at a time, mixing well, then stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in 1 cup of caramel chips and optional 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
