  • 1/2 cup Salted Butter For unsalted, add a pinch of salt.

Filling
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries Select ripe berries for maximum juiciness.
Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Equipment

  • 8x8-inch baking pan
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Pour in melted salted butter and pure vanilla extract, then mix until it resembles large crumbs.
  3. Press about two-thirds of the crumb mixture into the bottom of your prepared baking pan. Bake for 15–20 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. While the crust is baking, wash and chop fresh strawberries into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Spread the chopped strawberries over the baked crust. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 25–30 minutes.
  6. Allow the bars to cool completely. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bars.
