Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Pour in melted salted butter and pure vanilla extract, then mix until it resembles large crumbs.
- Press about two-thirds of the crumb mixture into the bottom of your prepared baking pan. Bake for 15–20 minutes until lightly golden.
- While the crust is baking, wash and chop fresh strawberries into bite-sized pieces.
- Spread the chopped strawberries over the baked crust. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 25–30 minutes.
- Allow the bars to cool completely. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bars.
