- Finely dice yellow onions and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, combine onions, flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Gradually add milk while stirring to form a thick batter. Let sit for 2-3 minutes.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil, frying a few at a time for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove onion balls with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Mix ranch dressing and Cajun seasoning together for the dipping sauce.
