Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and slice medium-sized zucchinis into thin rounds.
  3. Sprinkle salt over the slices and let them rest for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine creamy ricotta cheese with dried basil, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the salted zucchini and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  6. In a baking dish, layer marinara sauce, sautéed zucchini, ricotta mixture, and shredded mozzarella.
  7. Repeat layering remaining ingredients, finishing with marinara and mozzarella.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 5-10 minutes until cheese is golden.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh basil leaves and serving.
