Step-by-Step Instructions for Maui Wowie Chicken Sandwich
  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk and salt for 15 to 30 minutes, up to 8 hours.
  2. Whisk together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne in a shallow bowl.
  3. Coat marinated chicken in the seasoned flour mixture and rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Fry coated chicken in olive oil at 325-350°F for 4 to 6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Caramelize pineapple slices in the same skillet for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.
