Cooking Steps
  1. Cook the linguine according to package instructions in boiling salted water for 8-10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned, then drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in minced garlic into the beef mixture and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  4. Add brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes to the skillet. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then pour it into the skillet, stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Add the drained linguine to the skillet and toss gently to coat in the sauce for 1-2 minutes on low heat.
  7. Remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
