Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced apples with cinnamon and set aside.
  3. Cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually add flour and oats, mixing until just combined.
  5. Spread half of the batter in the baking dish, layer spiced apples, then dollop with remaining batter.
  6. Mix oats, chopped pecans, and melted butter, and sprinkle over the top of the cake.
  7. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until the topping is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
