Step-by-Step Instructions for Slow Cooker Pepper Steak
- Begin by heating 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil shimmers, add your sirloin steak strips and sauté them for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are beautifully browned on all sides.
- While the beef is browning, grab a mixing bowl and combine 1 beef bouillon cube with 1 cup of hot water. Stir in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Mix until smooth.
- Once the steak is ready, transfer the sautéed beef into your slow cooker. Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the beef and add 1 cup of chopped onions. Gently stir everything together.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to high heat for 3 hours or low heat for 6-7 hours. Stir occasionally.
- About 1 hour before the cooking time is complete, add in 2 cups of sliced bell peppers. Stir them into the gently simmering mixture.
- When the cooking time is up, serve your Slow Cooker Pepper Steak hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.

Notes
Searing the beef before slow cooking enhances the overall flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
