Cooking Steps
- Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add 2 tablespoons of salt once boiling.
- Add spaghetti to boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic (and red pepper flakes, if using) for 1-2 minutes.
- Toss drained spaghetti into garlic oil and mix in reserved pasta water until well-coated.
- Stir in chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, season with salt and black pepper.
- Mix softened butter with minced garlic and remaining parsley for garlic butter.
- Slice Italian bread lengthwise and spread garlic butter mixture generously.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake garlic bread for 10-12 minutes until golden.
- Broil garlic bread for an additional 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Serve spaghetti alongside garlic bread, garnished with extra cheese and parsley.
