Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by pressing the extra-firm tofu for 15 to 20 minutes to eliminate excess moisture.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pressed tofu cubes with soy sauce, cornstarch, panko breadcrumbs, spring onions, minced garlic, ginger, sesame oil, black pepper, and grated carrot.
  3. Use your hands to shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the tofu balls for approximately 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. In a separate bowl, blend together sweet chili sauce and rice vinegar to create your glaze.
  6. Once the tofu balls are baked, toss or coat them gently in the sauce mixture.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced scallions before serving.
