Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until a thick dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) before baking, 15 minutes prior to baking time.
  6. Scoop and shape the dough onto prepared baking sheets, pressing extra chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  8. Let cookies set for 5 to 10 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
